Mezcal festivals that big can be tough, my taste buds burn out too quick! π
Next time I go to San Miguel de Allende I will definitely look you up and maybe we can go out to see some of these producers firsthand! I didnβt think much of Guanajuato producers before this year, when I had what has been my favorite Mezcal of the year so far from Pedro Valdes in San Felipe Guanajuato. A Salmiana at 60% ABV, itβs incredible!!!!
Rakhal, I certainly understand. That's one reason we stayed the night and went both days!
Funny you should mention Pedro. I've only visited two destilerias here in Guanajuato--and his isn't one of them. But I heard that 60% was fantastic; so I'm hoping to go there soon.
In fact, a local friend and I were just talking about putting some trips together. I've so far identified 6 producers--and just figured out how to make my own map with markers. No way we can jam all 6 into one day; so I may break it down into three day trips.
